Leverage the 10-minute Universe!

If we are attentive enough, we can spot innumerable tiny pockets of free time even on a busy day. These are so tiny that we seldom identify them and use them.

The 10-minute Universe

However, I have been a regular user of what I call my ‘10-minute Universe’.

I am a To-Do person. I make a list of all my pending tasks and follow them through. There is a pleasure in striking off items as they get completed.

Lately, I have been creating a separate ‘10-minute Universe’ list. These are items that can be completed in 10 minutes each or less. Any of my pending tasks that can be completed in 10 minutes each or less go into this list.

To-do list

Take a look at my current 10-minute Universe list:
– Renew car insurance online
– Declutter 2 sections in the Filing Cabinet
– Set up a new payee on the bank website and transfer funds to travel agent
– Raise the 2 invoices
– Remit tax online for last month
– Reconfirm the travel and stay arrangements with the client
– Share available dates with the client

Leveraging the 10-minute Universe, I am able to accomplish a lot even on a hectic day. It is amazing how much 10 minutes can contribute to staying on top of things. When I make time to focus on the bigger items, I can bring a lot of energy into tackling them knowing that the smaller items are now out of the way.

I am now comfortably on top of my To Do list, thanks to leveraging the 10-minute Universe.

Do you want to give it a shot? Begin with creating a To Do list. Once you have created the To Do list, identify tasks that can be done in 10 minutes or less. List these tasks separately and keep the list handy.
